The $27 million State Route 28 Etna Bypass project was completed in seven months. Mascaro had to maintain traffic while completing a bridge erection that had severely skewed girders with built-in post-pour horizontal end rotation. Mascaro called it a “tough build.” The construction included roadway and bridge reconstruction and 30,000 cubic yards of concrete during phases IV and V of the project, all while protecting vehicle traffic and pedestrians below the bridge.

What makes it interesting?

Mascaro was in need of work at the time and won by being 1 percent low. They had to protect vehicle traffic and pedestrians, maintaining traffic during construction.

How HCSS Software assisted with this project

Mascaro won the job by being around 1 percent low. Mascaro needed work and had all types of folks helping with this estimate, from foremen to superintendents, project managers, and estimators. HCSS HeavyBid helped pull this difficult job together with ease.
